Programme overview
What this programme covers
Logistics Operations is written from inside a freight forwarder's office. Chapter one sets out what a forwarder is and is not, the shipment lifecycle from request to delivery, and the course's own three lists: what you control — internal coordination, information accuracy, communication with the parties; what you influence — sailing schedules, carrier response, how fast a problem is resolved; and what you do not — weather, port congestion, a government authority's decision. It then traces the end-to-end flow of cargo, information and cash, cut-offs and transit time versus published schedule; cargo types and container selection, from dry and hazardous to reefer and flat rack; and carriers, rate validity, surcharges and rollovers. Chapter two is eight modules, six of them built around real Excel work: inbound and outbound tracking models, a shipment cost control file, a delay root cause log, a weekly execution checklist and carrier communication templates. Chapter three is judgment: junior-role KPIs, reporting versus escalation, five decision scenarios, and 3PL/4PL/5PL service models. Seventeen Storyline modules, each chapter ending in a platform quiz at 65%.

Practical outcomes
What you will be able to do
- 01What a freight forwarder is and is not, who you work with — clients, carriers and agents — and how sales, operations, documentation and customer service divide the work inside the office
- 02What you control, what you only influence and what you do not control: internal coordination, information accuracy and communication against sailing schedules and carrier response, against weather, port congestion and authority decisions
- 03The shipment lifecycle from request to booking, execution and delivery, and the flow of cargo, information and cost alongside it — origin pickup, cut-off dates, main transport, arrival notice, clearance, last mile and the destination agent
- 04Cargo and container selection: general against special cargo, dry, liquid, hazardous and perishable, weight, volume and density, and 20 ft and 40 ft standard boxes against reefer, open top and flat rack
- 05Working with carriers: booking, rate validity and surcharges, space confirmation against space allocation, rollovers, and the published schedule against transit reality
- 06Six Excel models run from the file itself — inbound and outbound tracking, a shipment costing sheet, a delay root-cause log, a weekly execution checklist and carrier communication templates — then junior-role KPIs, reporting against escalation, five decision scenarios, and the 3PL, 4PL and 5PL service models
